Google Docs:
Google offers the free and excellent Google Docs. This includes a word
processor, spreadsheet and presentation module. There
are also free templates to help you get going. All you
need is a Google account, a web browser and an
internet connection. Google Docs offers a full set of
features in a simple and easy to learn interface.
Google Docs also autosaves while you work and, since
the documents are stored on Google’s servers, they
can’t be lost. The documents can be downloaded in
Microsoft Office format, shared, and they can be
printed (see note below). Google Docs is simple enough
for a young student and powerful enough for business
users.
• Note: To print a Google Doc turn off print headers and
print footers in your web browser. You only have to do this
once.
