Transportation:

Free school bus transportation, depending on distance, is available for 1st - 6th grade students. Free or half-fare Metro Cards, depending on grade or distance, is available for 7th and 8th grade students. Contact the office about the possibility of Metro Cards for 1st - 6th grade students. Private door-to-door minibus service is available.

• Excellent Teachers - Our certified teachers meet New York City Department of Day Care requirements and many hold advanced degrees in education. Committed to excellence in teaching and learning, the school provides funds to assist teachers in their degree studies and for continuing education opportunities. Over the years, teachers at Queens Lutheran School have been distinguished for their teaching excellence by being listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers and by receiving regional "Teacher of the Year" recognition.

• Excellent Curriculum - Queens Lutheran School follows the curriculum guidelines and standards established by the New York State Department of Education and exceeds these requirements through its enhanced programming and enriched academic courses. The curriculum is reviewed and updated regularly. Queens Lutheran School holds an Absolute Charter from the New York State Board of Regents.

• Excellent Students, Promising Futures - Queens Lutheran School students consistently score above the national and local average on standardized and New York State tests. Our students often qualify as area and regional finalists in spelling contests and in other challenges. Our eighth grade students are well prepared for their high school entrance exams and score well on the Catholic Cooperative Exam and specialized high school test. Many of our students qualify for acceptance to prestigious high schools and continue to excel throughout their high school experience due to the fine educational foundation they received at our school. Recently five students were accepted at Brooklyn Technical High School, five at St. Francis Prep School, one at Townsend Harris High School, one at Information Technology High School and several received full scholarships.

Most importantly, at Queens Lutheran School children learn and grow in their understanding about who they are as children of a loving God and about God's purpose and promise for their lives. By attending Queens Lutheran School, a child is prepared for a life of faith and learning.
