Queens Lutheran School
The Academy in Astoria
Our
Children…Our Future
We have been working at Queens Lutheran School and have
some exciting plans to share with you. For over 50 years
Queens Lutheran School has been rich in academic
achievements. Our students year after year get into the top
NYC public and private high schools. This is in good part
to our fine teachers who have been with our school for
years and are dedicated to helping each and every student
do his and her very best.
As we plan for the future we will keep in mind our rich
academic excellence while expanding our program to meet the
challenges of globalization that face our children today.
In the work places of the 21st Century we are called on to
work in collaborative teams, have computer skills and work
with people of different ages, cultures and abilities. With
those goals in mind Queens Lutheran School, offers a
cutting edge concept in education, the “multiage
classroom.”
The multiage classroom is the deliberate grouping of
students across grade levels to form a single learning
community that meets the academic, social, emotional and
physical needs of the children. Some of the benefits of a
multiage classroom are that it allows for flexibility of
grouping and time, and it gives students the opportunity to
become more independent responsible learners.
We hope that you will be as excited as we are about the new
direction Queens Lutheran School is taking as it becomes
the cutting edge Academy in Astoria.
